Emily Bell

Hey! I am so glad you are here. Starting the journey to take care of your mental health is both scary and exciting. So, whether or not you choose to pursue your journey with me, take a moment to give yourself credit for taking this first big step into wellness.

In therapy, I like to take a goal-oriented approach. I feel it is very important to set goals (both big and small!) to help guide the therapy process, which is something we will collaborate on together. In order to help work towards your goals, I find it helpful to use a variety of treatment modalities such as mindfulness, self-compassion, acceptance and commitment therapy, motivational interviewing, dialectical behavior therapy, exposure and response prevention, and my personal favorite, cognitive behavioral therapy. By using these approaches, together we can better understand how your thoughts, behaviors, and emotions are interacting with one another, to help you work towards a healthier relationship between the three. In my 7+ years in the mental health field, I have worked with a multitude of concerns such as depression, anxiety, OCD, suicidal ideation, self-harm, substance use, grief, life transition, and interpersonal relationships. I would like to describe my personal demeanor as soft, flexible, light-hearted, calm, welcoming, and a touch of humor!

My personal goal for you is to feel confident in yourself, your mental health, and the coping skills you learn through the therapy process. Someone had once told me, “no one is born a winner or a loser, you are born a chooser”. I strongly believe that once you choose to start prioritizing yourself and your well-being, change is truly possible, and I would be grateful to support you through this process.
